although, i'm not too pumped about the "Premium Membership"

Why not? Apparently nothing is going to change if you don't decide to buy it and it's entirely optional.

Memberships.... paying maybe not the best thing IMO but then again it does help out the owners a little. This has always been a free forum anyway so i don't get why change it... cool.gif I guess like Posky's donation system hey?

In the event a mulitplayer server is created, will it be for FSX only, or will it be for FS9 also? huh.gif

I think it's a bit early to speculate on those sorts of specifics.

Correct, nothing will be different for free members. We'll not be taking any features away from free members, and we'll still be adding new site features as always for free members, and the world will still continue to spin for free members.

Premium members will have the added benefit of special features that we could not financially give to everybody (more space for PM's, content in place of ads, etc).

A new domain, yes, but we're keeping the domain FS2004.com, so if you rather type "FS2004.com" you'll still be redirected automatically to the new name.

All accounts, post counts, PM's, etc will be saved. The new forums will look and feel nearly identical but with the addition of new features.

Yes, Paypal will be an option and we will likely offer annual plans.

There are certainly alot of questions surrounding this particular feature.

Oh sad.gif

I was hoping it would be a one time fee. I don't like paying annually.

Plus, if people buy premium membership, under their avatars, it should say, premium member or something.

Also, I think there should be two membership options.

1. High Flyer Membership
2. Gold Flyer Membership

the first would be cheaper, but less features.

An annual fee of 10 dollars USD Brad? Sounds great, will larger sigs be one of the features?

We won't be able to settle on a price until we firm up our feature list and calculate our annual cost for those features. Larger sigs aren't currently on the list.

Hard to say, but I think we can knock it out by mid-February, maybe sooner if all goes well.
